Artist + Designer
Sydney Fashion Designer, Artist and Curator, Zoe Mahony gained her Dip. Fine Arts, at National Art School in 1992 and later graduated with First Class Honors in Fashion and Textile Design at UTS in 1999. In 2000 she was awarded The Winston Churchill Fellowship, analysing studio practice in Paris, London and Antwerp. Other awards Zoe has won include Yves Klein Design Award MCA and the Pat Corrigan Grant from The National Association of Visual Arts. Zoe has worked in design both in Australia and internationally for high profile labels including BOUDICCA, of London and Akira Isogowa in Sydney and Paris.
Her own label, Original Language was distributed through prestigious stores in Australia, Singapore and New Zealand. She has exhibited at Australian Fashion Week and at the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Zoe has also featured in Fashionista Series 2 2003 Lee LinChin SBS TV. She currently teaches fashion design at leading Australian fashion college East Sydney Tafe and curates the Forbes and Burton Art Box and Exhibition space in Darlinghurst. The knitted installation exhibition featured in Australian Vogue Living July/August 2010 issue. In the coming months she will also be exhibiting her own work in The Hankie Project at Barratt Galleries SA and Grafton Regional Gallery.
